It’s marmalade time again. Those tart juicy oranges and the large yellow grapefruit festoon our fruit trees asking to be picked. I chop and simmer them until soft adding the pips in a muslin bag.
I pour in light brown sugar to taste-just enough to remove the bitterness. Cool and blend the mixture to your own preference.
Instead of bottling the mixture, I divide it among plastic bags and freeze it. When needed, I thaw a bag of orange and grapefruit marmalade and empty it into a small Kilner jar. Mmm-health in a jar!
